I wouldn't start buying things till you have found the problem. Chances are slim that something unrelated broke at the same time you changed cams. First i would reset the computer and if that dosn't work i would check the vacuum.

if something was broke or installed incorrectly then that would be the problem. maybe.. otherwise when modifying these cars u have to modify the computer to gain the most power and driveability!

Thats why I said something "unrelated" like sensors, the IAC, etc... And the vacuum gauge will tell him if something was not installed right like a leaking gasket, rockers to tight, etc... The stock ford mass air eec's will be able to handle a mild cam swap without any special tuning.

I called crane cams and they have told me that the 1994-1995 computers are very touchy and have a hard time relearning information. They told me that I will need a (a 9 l ecu upgrade) and since then have heard of several people who have done this. This is a new computer and wiring for the car. Keep you guys imformed.

IMHO...the easiest way would be to purchase a 94/95 Cobra PCM (box code J4J1). I know the Ford dealer around here is usually $150. I normally change this with the chip but it is plug-n-play and works good...you will have to upgrade the injectors to 24# and a new MAF. However eventually you'll want to change this anyhow.
For a good price on a PCM you might try www.autoecms.com |
