Default $180 to spend

I have $180 to spend on my car. I was thinking of getting a Pro5.0 shifter (i have a shifter but am not sure which one) or a 65mm throttle body. Is the Tri-Ax shifter worth considering? I know the Pro 5.0 and Tri Ax are very similar. What should I get?

Thanks!

I have the tri-ax shifetr and love it . I have heard good things about the pro 5.0 as well. Either one would be good. I can tell you that the steeda tri-ax is a tough shifter it is built really solid, I havent missed 3rd gear since I got it.

So is the Pro 5.0, but trust me its worth it.

Lightbulb Stop or shift?

If you need brakes, by all means, get brakes. Bad brakes can kill you - a shifter won't (although you might kill a transmission).

Now, if you get a shifter, i recommend a PRO 5.0. I've had one for years and it's still mint and feels great. I'm sure the Steeda is great, too, but i can't personally recommend it.

Either way, expect to spend about $200. Worth it.

I have decided to get the Pro 5.0. Right now I am using a Hurst shifter. How does the Pro5.0 compare to the Hurst.

Thanks

depends on which hurst, if you have the old hurst competition shifter with chrome handle then the pro 5.0 is superior, if you have the hurst billet shifter, then i think you are on even ground. all three shifters have the same exact features, it really comes down to who has the best price and which name you like best. i personally have the hurst billet and it has been great, my dad had a hurst, my grandpa had a hurst, and i thought it would be cool to carry on the tradition.

I'm going to say go for MAC, its cheaper, and I honestly can't really tell the diff between it and a pro 5.0 in a buddies car..

the MAC finds 3rd gear nicely too...

I'll vouch for the Ripper. It's a little bit cheaper than the other ones and is very good quality. Shifts really smooth. It also has adjustments in the mounting holes so you can move the whole shifter assembly backwards so it isnt so hard to reach 5th gear as it is with most short throw shifters.

I'll also vouch for the ripper. I've had mine since May 98 and it has helped my T5 stay healthy and I don't miss third gear with it.
Personnaly I think the people that trash the ripper have never owned one or tried one. You'll probably beable to stay at $180 with the ripper.
