How to gain an extra car length in the 1/4????
Last night I decided to try out the fastest 5.0 in our city(a 91 LX coupe with all the basic bolt on 's and 3.73's). My car is a 91GT with 6037 Edelbrock heads, E-cam,1 5/8 shorties, pulleys, factory H-pipe(front cats hollowed, no rear cats, and 3.55's). I can't afford a manifold. Needless to say the LX beats me off the line(3.73's!!)and I stay on his bumper the whole way.I do have slicks but so does he. Would a 65mm t-body give me an extra length? What about a bigger mass air meter? Maybe a real off-road h-pipe and sub-frame connectors?? Can I run more than 14 deg timing and if so would this help?? Should I be ashamed to loose to this guy after my mods? He run's 14.1's at 3500ft altitude. Please help me,I need one extra car length.

I would think a new TB and Mass air meter would get you there. But so would a intake..Good Luck

I'd say do the exh., headers would help a lot, just look at your stockers! If you were to do the full exh. (headers, H, cat-back) you would be in good shap. Look into some long tube headers, an offroad H and a cat-back.
