Default Stock 0-60? Modded?

Just curious what a 90-92 GT AOD will typically run stock in a 0-60. And with the mods in my signature, what do you think mine will run? I'm asking because I bet $20 on a race at the dragstrip against a friend...now I dont necessarily believe him because he has a history of being a liar, but he said he did a G-Tech on his 84 Trans Am and got 4.86.

Wanna know what I'm up against. He has a new intake manifold, bigger carb, headers, glasspack sidepipes, a 700-R4 auto tranny with a Stage 2 shift kit, and new gears in his rear, but I dont know what ratio because first he said 4.11, then he said 3.73, and last he said he insinuated that they're factory.

I dont have a AOD but my 88 GT 5speed probably runs 0-60 in the low 6's and its pretty much stock except for the KK clutch, new flywheel, and super turbo mufflers. That is also with the 2.73's (which i quite frankly hate excpet for the gas mileage). I have never really got an exact timing on it but thats what im guesstamating from driving it all the time. Doesx anyone else have an exact time?

Thats pretty quick for relatively stock. Wonder what the 4.10's will do for me..hopefully a LOT. I have brand new tires all around too..forgot to mention. Back has Cooper Cobra ZPT 01's...245 50 16's, with a W speed rating...168 mph.

Whats time do you and him run?? There a site that uses your 1/8 mile time and mph to figure out your 0-60 time, not 100% accurate but give you an idea.

Well thing is he CLAIMS that 0-60, and he's never been to the drag strip. I haven't done a 0-60 or 1/4 on mine..not even 1/8...NOTHING. Never been run. I went to run it this past Friday and we get to the strip at Orlando and they tell us no one's allowed in. Dragster test and tune for Gatornationals. Needless to say I wasnt happy.

Cool

I have never seen a 0-60 on a time slip fron a track. I am not saying it is not so, but I have never heard of it or seen it. Why don't you put the G-teck in your car. Or get with lx mike and see what site that is that converts it for you.

I know this is off topic, but I see in your sig that you say Tommie Vaughn Ford screwed you. How did they screw you? I do all of my business with them and I dont want the shaft. It is only about 20 min from me and they have good prices.

Maybe it was his 60 foot time rather than his 0-60 that was 4 seconds...

Me eithr, never seen a 0-60 timeslip, g-tech is the only way to know, that i know of, or that conversion thingy, speaking of tommie vaughn, i met a guy at the track with a blown saleen, he does all his buisness through tommie with no problems, hmmm

about the 84 t/a, if he still has a 305 in that bish, you have him beat, the gm 305 is reliable, but slow, the 5 liter stang should destroy it, even with mods.

You need to have your 1/8 mile time and speed. i run about 8.8@80 and it says my 0-60 is 4.95. that with a 2.0x 60' time.

He never dragstripped his car..he claimed that time WAS from a G-Tech. The motor is an 84 L69, the High Output 305. 190 hp stock.

Haven't been able to run my car at the strip yet. Last time I drove the whole 55-60 miles to Orlando, I get there and they tell me that their internet calendar and information was wrong and that no one was allowed in...dragster tuning for Gatornationals was taking place. Ohhhhh yes, I was pissed...and down half a tank of gas by the time I got home! Although actually it did way better than normal...mostly highway miles.

3.4 sec for my 0-60 on that calculator site. Neet

TVM let them owe you and you will understand very quikly, I have been fighting with them from a week before Christmas till yesterday for $83.00 They sent me a MSD Blaster II coil, (canister type) pt #121-8202 and the mounting bracket pt#121-8213
The coil sells for 28.99 the bracket sells for 3.69. They say we are even. I say I got screwed.
They are the largest motorsports dealer in the country, they gross 20 million a year and it takes 3 months for them to reinburse you and you only get $33.00 worth of stuff for $83.00 The whole deal was thier fault and it cost me 3 months, 20 phone calls, and $50.00 for nothing. This is a mustang board and it is my responsability to report to all of you that they are not honest.

Default just my 2 cents

but either the guy you are going to race is clever, or just windy....probably windy. In all the drag racing I have seen, the 305's get there @#$% handed to them just about every time.
Reading what mods you have, unless his is heavily modified (like heads or short block), you will embarass his 305 badly.

My time in my cobra falls right in line with the factory specs.

According to that thing my cobra gets 0-60 in 5.4

In other words your friend is full of it. I have 320HP compared to his 190HP.

Lol,

With numbers like that, he's GOT to be full of it. I know for a fact he isn't pushing 300 hp. He's not pushing close. With what I've heard and calculated via r!cer math, he should be in the 240-250 hp department...right about in-line with what I should make...but I've got the 4.10's and a wicked mean hook with these new tires.
