Question Transmission Question

My transmission is worn and needs to be rebuilt. I can feel that the syncros are not doing their job too well anymore.. A friend at school mentioned to me today that he knows a guy selling a tremac that has about 5k miles on it w/bell housing and Centerforce clutch. He wasn't sure of a price though. Should I go with the tremac or just a rebuild of my T5?

Well, with so little miles, and a good clutch with it, i cant imagine him wanting to sell it for less than a thousand, but ya never know. If you have priced rebuilds for your t-5, and its close to a grand, then just get the tremec. If you plan on doing more to your car... ie, big heads, or blower, then i would say get the tremec. If not, and you can get the t-5 rebuild for about 500 bucks or near there, i would go for the rebuild, cuz if you arent gonna go faster, then you dont need a tremec. Plus i hear that tremec's arent as nice for around town shifting. just my 2 pennies though
