Cool an 89lx notchback..in EXCELLENT condition with 300 hp for $3,200?

ok, I know this guy..who is sellin his stang..here's the specs:

1989 lx 2-door sedan
5.0L
K & N Air Filter
GT Seats ($500)
power everything...
3.55 gears
Racing Chip
American Racing Rims

he's invested a shitload of money into the car..and it is now at 300hp....that's not too bad for an 89 stang..uhmm..let's see here..

there is about 150,000 Kilometres on the car...
the engine is COMPLETELY rebuilt...
The engine bay is clean...
The car has NO RUST AT ALL...
everything works fine..
There is no flaws or anything of ANY kind..I would call this car to be in EXCELLENT condition..

Do you guys think it is worth the $5,200 dollars canadian..($3,200 american)

If the body is not rusted and shows no sign of bondo and the floor panels are decent, GO FOR IT. Good deal. D@mn good deal. Make sure it will pass the local emissions laws. Thats maybe why the fellow is dumping it.

well..OBVIOUSLY that doesn't = 300hp...

I didn't list EVERYTHING that he put into his car...but if you want some ideas..

Aftermarket performance headers,
Dual Exhaust (flowmaster....40 series),
K & N,
50hp Racing chip,
Bored...

I don't know what else he has done...BUT...he does have a few performance parts in his engine..

sooo..the 300hp comes from the parts i didn't list in my first post..sorry if i mislead anyone...

oohh..btw..the car has NO RUST at all of ANY KIND and runs in great condition...

Does everyone still think it is a good deal??
Should I wait and find the same year for cheaper???
Should I run my ass over there now and BUY IT?!?

(does anyone know about the 3.55 gears??) I don't understand gear ratios..so if anyone could help me with a comparison of the 3.55's to a stock auto 89 LX...I would appreciate it!! (what do they mean in relation to hp, accel..and top end??)

THANKS AGAIN!!
l8tr..

Let's put it this way. A STOCK 1989 mustang with no rust in decent running condition is worth 4000-4500 american, at least in the boston area, so that is a good deal. Plus, it already comes with a lot of parts that you would want to put on it yourself as you slowly turn into a mustang fanatic behind the wheel of your pony. Go for it. You might want to find out why someone is selling such a gem for that little...

Sounds about right.. On average that's what notches with basic bolt-ons go for here in socal.

But then again, a car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

50hp "racing" chip?, lol. Not in this lifetime dude.

From what you listed it's a 240-250ish hp car.

Make sure you know what your getting.
