Default rear end ratio

I have a pretty much stock 91 gt with just cold air intake, and mac cat-back exhaust. It has the automatic trans in it. My friends father works at a ford dealership as a mechanic and he said he will give me a set of 4.10 gears and will install them for 300 dollars. Before the exhaust, I was running 10 flat in the 1/8 mile. Will this help me and will i be able to feel a difference. Please help.

Thanks.

Thats a pretty good deal for parts and labor. Yeah I'd go for it. I've thestock 2:73s in my vert and run about the same time. I've got a set of 3:73s on my bench that have been there for the past 6 months I just havent had two days off in over a year. Others I've talked to say anywhere from 2 to 5 tenths faster. Yes you will definately feel the difference.

Definately go for it!
Gears are by far the best bang for the buck on a stang, especially AOD stangs.

4.10's are a great gear for AOD cars as they really need help getting off the line.

Make sure he also installs the correct speedometer gear during the install as well to make sure your speedometer is correct.

going from 2.73's to just 3.73's in my car took right around a half second off of the quarter mile ET.

You'll fall in love with your car all over again, trust me.
