problemsw/2nd gear
I have a problem going into second gear. When you change it to fast it grinds. I'll have my foot all the way on the clutch and make sure i do and do it slow and it works. When i try that with 2nd gear but change it fast it grinds. what could it be? I have a hurst short throw shifter. Could the shifter be bad to make it shift in the wrong way?

Re: problemsw/2nd gear
Sounds like your clutch needs adjusted. If that's not it, then I'd start thinking synchronizers on the 2nd gear cluster.

Re: problemsw/2nd gear
Thats what someone told me. I know it's not the clutch. How much would that cost around to get fixed?(synchronizers). Parts and labor?

Re: problemsw/2nd gear
Several years ago, like '98, I got my cars original t-5 rebuilt, with all the work done in the shop (i.e. drop/reinstall) and a new SVO clutch for like 800.
Whether you get it rebuilt or buy a new one (not that much more), Make sure you get the alum. quadrant and adjuster. Trust me, the POS plastic stuff is crap. Just my .02 J Out of curiosity: Are you also getting the "Automatic- Impersonation". Where the car tries to creep forward when in gear at a stop?

Re: problemsw/2nd gear
No. It's fine when it's stopped. also when it is warm, it dosn't really grind. But when it does,it's only in 2nd gear. and can my problem get worst if i dont fix it right away?

Re: problemsw/2nd gear
It's only gonna get worse from here. I'm actually surprised it's 2nd gear, usually 3rd goes first.
If you're interested, I still have a TKO II and all the goodies for sale. Bellhousing, tranny, Steeda Tri-Ax shifter, BBK cable, Steeda quadrant, and firewall adjuster. $1100 can have it all.
