what other mods do you have ..if its just a tbody upgrade you dont need 24 lb injectors and on another note i wouldnt go bigger than a 65mm if your motor is close to stock

very true, also i might add, you have to buy another mass air sensor/housing for calibration, but like stated above you wont need them yet, wait until you at least get an intake, full exhaust, and maybe even better heads, maybe port your stockers.
other than that, the injector swap is very simple.

Well, I made 300 RWHP on the stock 19# injectors. So unless you make that, you are wasting you money.

If its a Speed Density (1988) car then I think you will need a chip for the computer to use the bigger injectors, or convert over to Mass Air and get a properly calibrated MAF.

Exactly. People are way to quick to upgrade injectors. I made 267 hp at the wheels with intake, heads, cam, exhaust, etc and was still running the stock injectors.

Re: what i have to do to upgrade from 19lb to 24 injectors
I agree that you can get pretty far with the stock injectors....BUT if you end up replacing them prematurly because they are clogged or you are just getting ready for more power in the future, you will need a new mass air calibrated for the right injectors and probably an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to dial down the pressure if u dont really need any more fuel. This can be another big mess though as spray patterns and all this comes into account. If u can just hold off and get the injectors later, invest elsewhere...you will be better off. what mods do u have now?

Re: what i have to do to upgrade from 19lb to 24 injectors
I really have to wonder about a B303 GT-40 aluminum head with 9.0:1 setup making 345hp. I'm sorry, but I see the combo in the 300-320hp range unless it's carbed, and extremely well tuned. Maybe they're rating in 99 Cobra hp?
19lb injectors are enough for that combo. MAF is not necessary to run 24lb injectors. Period. An adjustable FPR is a "should" and may be required for smooth idle. Also, stepping up to 24lb/hr injectors is not warranted unless you plan on going to forced induction or a race motor. There are very few N/A 5.0's out there making the kind of power that would make an injector upgrade necessary. |

Re: what i have to do to upgrade from 19lb to 24 injectors
Unit - Usually when Ford makes their HP claim on those motors, somewhere it is stated those numbers are for a motor with basically every other option bolted up to it (new exhaust, intake, TB, etc.). Just for comparision, I had that crate motor except with the GT-40 iron heads and I believe it was 8.5:1 compression. With all my bolt-on's I made the numbers in my sig., which would put it just over 300 hp at the crank. I don't know what the bump in compression and the aluminum heads are worth, but I just thought I'd throw out my numbers for comparison.
