FRPP Short block
I've been going around in circles deciding on an engine. I was looking in a FRPP book and came across a stroker 347 short block. The part number is M-6009-B347* It has a Sportsman block, Hypereutectic pistons with 6.5cc valve notches, pistons dect .000" Nominal, nodular cast ison crank, 4130 forged steel rods, Federal Modgul bearings, and is balanced for 28.2 damper and flywheel.
What are your thoughts and opinions on this short block? I want a street/strip naturally asperated, non-fuel injected engine that'll lay atleast 425 hp and 400 tq to the wheels.

Re: FRPP Short block
That's exactly what I'm running. 11.06 @ 121 N/A. The only thing I didn't care for AT ALL was the piston design. Dislike it so much, I'm changing them this winter.
Other than that, absolutely 100% NO COMPLAINTS!!!

Re: FRPP Short block
All stroker pistons shove the wrist pin way up into the oil ring. On these KB's, there's a tiny part of the ring that's unprotected, ie no piston material under it.
Talked to FRPP tech about it, and they said I was good to go, but I still just am not happy with the design in general. That's all, just my quirkyness I guess. No problems with them at all for the record.

Re: FRPP Short block
Good deal. I called a couple of places today to price this thing. $2500 is what a wholesaler priced it at. Does that sound close?
Jester, I noticed you were in a club called the Hollywood Knights? Dude, I love that movie. What's the scoop on the club?

Re: FRPP Short block
The JE pistons for the 347 have a steel support that goes under the oil ring and scrapper to give support where the wrist pin intersecs the oil ring.

Gearhead, I like that idea. Gonna have to check them out when I'm piston shopping this winter. Gotta go forged too, JE, Trickflow, and another company (Can't think of the name, Owner of Canfield heads suggested them to me) are in the running right now.

Re: FRPP Short block
That's awesome. I would love to get in on something like that.
