Default rear window motor for a vert

I heard there is a rebuild kit for the Convertible Rear Windows motor. Both of mine went out this summer. A hundred and forty dollars each is steep price to pay. Why do these motors always go out?

Thanks

Default Window power?

If you are still getting power to the motors, all you need is the teflon bushing rebuild kit for 5 bucks from any parts store.

The only difference in the quarter motors from the normal window motors is the metal adapter bracket.

If you need new ones, www.50resto.com
they come with a warranty.

good luck...

Default Thanks for the info

I think my inner gear is worn. I don't hear the motor running. I have 12 volts from the switch. Both windows slowed down and then didn't work. I have both motors out of the car.

I am going to take the covers off and inspect the gears and grease the motor. The only auto parts store around is Napa and Carquest. I will go talk to them.

Default Project Finished

Thanks to everyone that helped me. I took the rear window motors apart. The first motor had a broken plastice gear. I went to Napa and received the Napa part number 655-1128. I used the parts that were applicable and reinstalled the motor. The other rear motor was just ran out of grease so I repacked it with grease and it also works great. Thanks guys for the help. You just saved me 250 dollars.
