Throttle Body is whistleing
I have installed a 70mm BBK throttle body and spacer and it whistles (quite loudly) at idle only, which is 900 to 1000 rpms. As soon as the engine revs past idle every thing sounds normal. The performance is fine.
There are NO vacuum leaks. Anyone have this experience?

I don't have the BBK but I have heard a lot of people have that problem with them. Do a search in the archives and see what that brings up. I believe the fix is to drill a small hole in the throttle plate somewhere bu tI'm not totally sure.

I have a MAC TB and it only whistles when I moderately accelerate at about 1500 to 2500 rpms. Never had a problem at idle. I have heard that some aftermarket TB's do whistle. I'm not too sure about that whole drilling a hole in the butterfly of the TB. I t just seems like it would cause more idle problems. Plus if an aftermarket TB were meant to have a hole drilled in it, it would have been done so by the manufacture.

BBK's are notorious for whistling. They have a fix where you drill two holes somewhere and it does away with the whistling. They send you a template that shows you were to drill the holes. Contact them and I am sure they will send it to you.

the reason it whistles is because the little hole that is drilled in the throttle plate in there is drilled at an angle. So its kinda like you blowing sideways on a beer bottle opening.
Its not a problem unless you get too annoyed with it.

The only throttle bodies that I haven't heard whistling problems with are the Accufab pieces. If you hunt around online I'm sure you can find a tech article explaining how to smooth the edges/drill a hole to stop the whistling. I think there is a recent post similar to this one explaining hoe to fix it. godd luck.
