Default fiil up tank now i smell gas

the other day my girlfriend toped off the tank and for the lastday or two we have been smelling gas in the car it smeels like it comes from the back of the car but i cant see any leaking!??? anyone else ever have this problem?

There is a plastic splash shield around the filler neck complete with a rubber hose that drains it through the rear near the back bumper in case any gas splashes inside the shield. If that rubber hose comes loose or the shield's bolts come up, the fumes will enter the cabin and the car will smell like gas

Mine came from the factory with a kink in the drain hose.
Yours may have just come loose. I had to take the inner trim panel off to access it.

Same here, mine had a nest of some kind stopping overflow from reaching the ground, and gawd did it smell bad. Good thing no one tried lighting a cigarette....
