It's funny how people throw together these parts list and say, I'm gonna run 10's for X dollars! It's pathetic! I'll make one just for fun all prices are Canadian money
79 4cyl. stang $300 8.8 rear with 4.10's $375 (buy n sell) 460 with C6 $1000 (buy n Sell) camshaft $150 NX 100-250 wet kit. $600 (exotic part) Holley 850 dbl. pumper $150 (buy n sell or swap meet) Weiand xcelerator manifold $100 (buy n sell) Engine swap Headers $650 (most exotic part) Port the heads and intake myself M/T et drags 28*10.5 $550 cheap wheels $120 Trans blanket $250 Sfi balancer $550 8pt cage jobber $800 (welded in) 90/10 struts $350 50/50shocks $150 harnesses $80 =$6075 Canadian dollars, or $3900 American Oops! I'll need aftermarket axles, c-clip eliminators, longer wheel studs, probably will want to relocate the battery, a proper tach, nitrous guage, burst valve and vent tube, purge kit, etc, etc, etc... If it was cheap, don't you think we'd all have 10 second cars? |

So you made a list longer than mine, and for less money too! Perhaps I will retire to my cave and not see the light of day for 1 year as penance for leaving off a few parts. I know one thing, you can go 8.70's for 6800 dollars U.S. right Effin now if you want my drag bike. But that is probably a little quick for you. Arrogant thick headed canadian b*st*rd.If we Americans were as smart and enlightened as you we would also live in a frozen wasteland where you can only drag 6 months a year. I am still racing evey sunday and will continue till mid January. The gall and Audacity of you "true Yankees" Rubs me the wrong way. Here is to meeting you in a dark alley and teaching you some manners.Don't bother to reply with your indigent gibberish,if you don't like a thread don't post on it.I'll not be back to have a back and forth with you either so fire at will, there will be no backlash for I have better things to do.

I don't know why these fast imports are all the rage with kids. By kids I mean late teens to early 20's. When I was a "kid" (late 80s - early 90's) mustang/camaro was the big deal. You could pick up an LX somewhere in the teens and for 3 grand have a screamer. That's why I finally have a (decent) Mustang now (even though the wife hates it).
It seems to me that a 300 horse V8 would be alot cheaper to make than a 300 horse 4 cyl. Not only that, How reliable can a high horse 4 cyl be? One more thing, No matter how much ponies you stuff into a 4 banger, they sound like crap. I also have a 78 F100 that I fixed up and put a 351W four bbl dual exhaust in. I would think that a done up honda would run circles around it. But then again mine sounds so much better. Jayson 93 GT, 3.55's, K&N, lowered, sub frames, Hurst shifter 78 F100 351W, dual ex, 4 bbl, A/C, buckets from a 96, electric fan, C/D changer, new everything else 96 Taurus Wagon (at least it's got the 24V V-6) |

Well I haven't posted here in about 2 years but I read once in a while and thought this would be interesting. Here's a link to a 10.9 second all motor incar pass down the track in a honda that red lines at 10,700 RPM's. Now remember this is ALL MOTOR so its really expensive but to do it with power adders would be much cheaper. Erick's Racing Hondata Drag Run
Enjoy. By the way.. esslinger had a zx2 in the 10's n/a now that is something to see.. an 10 second escort beating those super fast 10 second civcs.

Yeah 8.70's with no wheelie bar and a 7" slick, with just 1.225 litres of geniune Godsuki silver bullet. Of course the record for my class(outlaw street 75" wheelbase,7"slick,Stock cradle, unlimited motor mods, power adders, anything goes) is in the high 7.40's at just over 200. That is flying bro'. Of course I would need a billet big block, chassis mods, new shock, stroker crank, extensive head work, and the money to be able to freshen it up every 20 passess or so.But even so I do have some low 1.30 sixty foots and some high 5.50 1/8 mile passes to be proud of.And she is for sale like I said 6800 U.S.( I am selling so as to build a turbo motor for my cartire bike with bars. Hope to see some 7 second passes with out the 1/8 mile wheelies that are so common to a bike with no bars making close to 300 hp like the one I ride presently. No one lives forever and those 12'oclock power wheelies in 2nd and third with a 15" over arm will scare the crap out of you.
