Default key

ok, i have aquestion, however it isnt about my stang, but rather a 98 explorer i bought -eddie bauer. i figure everyone here is so knowledgable about cars that you may be able to help. i want to havea key made, but the dealer it will cost 75 bux becaseu they need to hook it up to the computer blah blah blah. i tried to hgave one made for 3 bux, but it didnt work. it would crank, but not turn over. is there any other possibility or alternative before spending 75 bux on a freaking key??? thanks,

jim

Default Re: key

Sorry, but I think you're screwed. If the thing has an electronic key you will need to have them "program" it for your ignition. They joys of technology.
