http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard...ML/002955.html

i ran 16.272@83.11

my car is going to get either a Dynomax Super Turbo Cat Back or a Hurst Or B&M(whichever is better) Shorty Shifter To Help Me Get In The 14s...

its my driving that needs improvement, so which will be the best for now???

now which one to get???

neither will help you a whole lot, i'd guess the catback would help more but you wont see more than a tenth or so improvement, what you need is more practice and gears
i through a bunch of parts at my car before i had the 3.73s and didnt see hardly any improvement whatsoever, i did read your previous post and im sure that if you get a good run in you could hit low 15s as it sits if you get good traction, get gears/full exhaust/pulleys/ and bump your timing and you MAY hit low 14's/high 13's

------------------
88 Notch, B&M Ripper, 3.73's, Ported E7's, Explorer int. w/ ported lower, pulleys, 1.7RR's, BBK headers, off-road H-pipe, flowmasters, subframes, 65mm TB, March ram air ,MSD coil, U/L control arms, 155lph f/p, Crane Adj.FPR, Nitto drag radials, best 1/4--> 13.76@101.4 on a 2.17 60ft

I actually think the cat back will help you, since you only have dumps at the end of the stock H-Pipe, that motor is seeing no back pressure and will really hurt your performance right now. A nie flowing Cat back and Off road pipe will help. 83mph is very slow even for a stock 5.0 IMHO, I turned 93-95 stock with 2:73 gearing, with the 3:73's I went 104+ on the stock motor. The gears will help also, go 3:73 or 4:10's and get a set of sticky drag tires for the strip.

Looks to me you need to learn how to drive. Then you can worry about buying some parts.

well, 89 ATI, if you read my thread, you would know that my quadrant snapped out of adjustment while i did a small burnout, so i was shifting with about half clutch.

i ordered the dynomax 2.5" super turbo cat back, and will be getting it in 2 weeks from today (tuesday).

i am going to be racing again on friday & saturday to hopefully go low 15s, maby 14s.

if anyone knows how to make the stock quadrant not snap out of adjustment, please let me know.

i know how, get rid of that plastic piece of crap, D&D sells an adjustable cable with an aluminum quadrant for $89, probably would be a great thing to do at this point
