CHEAPEST HEADS EVER, What do yall think?
I came across a set of heads in the back of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords magazine. I need your opinion on them. They are the Aerohead, $399/pair assembled. The specs are as followed:
Select D8OE Castings 3 angle valve job Bronze wall liners 7 degree locks Chromoly Retainers 1.90x1.60 valves .550" lift springs 69cc chamber volume 130cc intake volume 5/16 Pedestal Rocker Mounts standard What do yall think? Do you think they are worth trying? Will they be good with my stock mustang(except for headers, x pipe, and low/mid cam)? Thanks for any input guys. |

These heads sound like a good dea to me. These heads with an explorer intake and a good cam would be a stout budget built 302.

Those heads will drop your compression a little though I would get them milled about 25 thousanths.

D8OEs were 1978 lo-po castings! E7TEs are better.

Yup, they are definitely low performers. 130cc intake ports are TINY. I would be looking at a GT40P for a budget performance head, they will kill those late 70's heads.
