t 5 trans
I have a 1979 mustang pace car that had a 5.0 4speed in it and I put a 1983 5.0 t5 in it and the trans is starting to make a lot of noise.I have a t5 out of a 1995 v6 mustang what do I need to make it work in my car.Someone told me that the input shaft and the throw out bearing collar is longer on the 95 trans. thanks for any help.Tony p.s. I live in lakeland,fl.

I believe they are right, I know with the 94-95 mustang 5.0s' transmission has a longer input shaft. My guess is most will suggest that you sell your v6 trans and get a Fox mustang world class t5. Should be able to pick up a used one for around $500.

You simply have to use a 94-95 bell housing and starter. your shifter will move back about 1/2 an inch.
