Performer VS. Performer RPM
I was wondering which upper intake do you guys think will be better for my application. The Edelbrock Performer or the Performer RPM. I know they say the RPM is for upper RPM over 5000 but it also says for Nitrous applications. I will be spraying a 150 shot with the possibility of 200-225. What do you guys think. Thanks in advance
P.S. I shift at 6000-6100. ------------------ 92' LX Hatch 5 spd Edelbrock Performer Intake, pro-m 75mm MAF, 70mm T.B., 24lb injectors, 190lph, Mac fenderwall cold air induction, mallary ignition and coil, Cobra 1.7 rockers, 373:1 gear, upper and lower control arms, supersubs, 50/50's, front drag springs, no sway bar, battery in hatch, compucar N20 kit |

Performer is made for running from idle to 5500, RPM is 1500 to 6500. If you're shifting at 6000 or 6100 then I'd say get the RPM.
I have the RPM and it's great. I don't know the difference between it and a Performer because I've never ran a Performer. Oh yeah, but there's a slight difference between our engines, mine's carbed. So I can't tell you which one is better for you, but I'd guess the RPM for your application and driving habits. ------------------ '69 Coupe with 351W ========================= Edelbrock Performer-RPM intake manifold, Edelbrock Performer-RPM cam, Edelbrock lifters, Edelbrock 750 cfm carb, Accel coil, Moroso Blue-Max spark plug wires, Hedman headers, 2 1/2" pipe, glasspacks, Edelbrock double roller timing chain, Edelbrock valve springs, Flex fan, C4, Lakewood traction bars, 3:1 open rear-9" 3.89:1 posi coming this summer ========================= |

I can't say anything about which would be better for your setup, but I can tell you that I know a couple of guys who bought RPM's for nearly stock vehicles and did not lose any considerably low end torque.

Thanks Guys, I wanted to switch to the RPM and now I will. It always makes me feel better when other racers agree with me.
By the way I meant a B-CAM with 1.7's (I think I've been around to much N20) |

your shifting to high. have u tried shifting at around 5k? I dont think you will lose any time on your ET, but you will save engine wear.

To my opinion... Perf. RPM worth 15-20 more
HP (naturally asp.) with 6300-6500 RPM shifting. It souds really free flow to me , maybe too much for 302CI but enough for nitro(150 hp) |
