black turbines
i was thinking about painting my turbines black, should look good on a white 90 gt. whats the best way to do this? do it myself...pay someone to powdercoat...dunno much about this stuff. any ideas or pics would be great

Eastwood has a home powdercoating kit for 99 bucks for the basic kit.
Here Plus you can then just buy more powder to do other stuff. Hope it helps, J

wow, thats really cool! only problem is i need an oven large enough for my wheels, and i can't bring them in my house! any other ideas or pics?

Well, you could get them media blasted, then paint (I wouldnt want to hand sand turbines, maybe a chemical stripper?), I would imagine a high temp engine/brake paint would hold.
Yeah, the wheel size could be a problem unless you have a junker oven lying about (My understanding is that you cant use a functional (read food) oven. I would say the high temp paint or powder coating are your best options for a lasting finish. J

VHT makes the Rim/Caliper etching paint that works great. I sandblasted my turbines and painted them black 3 years ago and they still look great and the brake dust has not damaged the finish. I myself think the rims in black on a white can will not look that nice but maybe the gun metal color like on the late model GT's would.

There are places here where i live that powder coat rims for 20 bux a piece.
You should call around localy.
