![]() I am looking for something that will give me a little something more in the 1/4.
I am planning on maybe some DR but before then i am looking at something i can get and install myself (with the help of one or two of my friends) but i have very little experience at working on the car myself...other than the shifter i havnt done any of it myself short of the air filter. I am only looking to spend 100 - maybe 300 or 400 any suggestions?

![]() ASP makes a good underdrive set. I have the March set on my car. I got them off Ebay for $15. They were brand new. Just make sure that you get a quality set. ASP, March, FMS, Steeda, BBK, MAC. Get the street set. Some make a race set, but I doubt that would be the right choice for you.
You can find some good deals on the classifieds and on Ebay if you are patient. Just know what you want to pay and wait until you can get close to that price. I also bought a 65mm Throttle body and EGR for $30 from the same guy. My father-in-law got a Black Magic fan for $50 (new). The deals are out there. Just be careful who you buy from.

![]() Yeah pullies are probably a good choice. I have the BBK aluminum ones I got from Summit, steel would have been just as good and about $20 cheaper. Don't expect huge improvements though. another cheapie is to put in a K&N air filter, make sure the silencer is removed, bump the timing to about 14-16* and get some sticky tires.

![]() Well his sig says 94 cobra, so you dont need gt-40 heads, already have them, you also have a 65mm tb and 1.7 rockers, get gears if you dont have them, i forgot to look
![]() ![]() Ok so you have gears, get tires then.

![]() have k&n, and the silencer was removed when i had my cold air induction installed...
1994-95 5.0L Mustang, carbon steel, black nitride finish, underdrive pulley set sound like what i need? i am not much of the bargain hunter, but...i am just looking for something i can buy new that will help me out just a little in the 1/4. would a TB really help me? what brand and size would you recomend? would a MAF do anything?

![]() I would stay with the pullies for now. MAF and TB will offer little improvement for the money. Get those later when you get heads. Unless you come across a deal you just can't pass up.

![]() If you really have a Cobra then you have 24# injectors. All other 5.0L stangs have 19# injectors. I wouldn't even think about upgrading the injectors at this point. You have nothing that would necessitate larger injectors. I really don't think that a MAF would be a good buy for the money for you. Just my opinion. The gains would be minimal.

![]() Well the gains would be small, but a cobra might benefit from a maf upgrade more than a stock 5.0, a C&L 76 mm looks like a good piece of work, just get one to match your 24#injctrs and you'll be fine up to 350-400 hp with that setup, and a 70mm tb would be a good match, also if you want to tune your car a little, get a fuel pressure regulator, and guage.

![]() Why would a 70mm TB be a good match for a Cobra intake? I thought they had a 65mm inlet. If they do then a 70mm TB would be sort of a waste in my opinion. However, to answer your question, they are very easy to install.

![]() I didn't even pull mine. Just stuffed a towel in the opening and did the matching with a gasket and a dremel. Pulled the towel out, vacuumed the crap and then wiped out the inlet.
