Resurection...long
I took a trip to work to pick up some tickets from my mail box. On teh way home the car died. No power to anything except the headlights. SCARED THE LIVING HELL OUT OF ME!!!! I called for a unit to block traffic while I flipped the lights on and off to simulate the hazards. Right before the unit arrived, a woman in a white Toyota (it was close enough for me to see the small emblem in the luittle grill) slammed on her brakes and came within inches if rear-ending me. After she drove off, suddenly I got all power back to everything. I drove straight to the barn with no more problems.
WHAT the hell caused the car to just suddenly die like that. The only thing I can come up with is the ignition switch is bad, and it overheated. The only problem with that is there was only about a ten minute span between the time I was almost creamed numerous times and the car started again.

Check your battery terminals to make sure that they are not loose or corroded.

They were actually checked earlier today when I got the a/c recharged. That was the first thought that ran through my head, but the headlights didn't get dimmer, they seemed to be alright which tells me that the connection to the batt was ok.
