where is code scanner terminal?
I want to check for stored codes in my '88GT but I can't seem to find the port to plug a code scanner into.
Where is it exactly?

driver's side rear engine compartment behind strut tower. should have a connector assembly with a rectangular case, coming from the harness. you have to pull out the connectors from the case to hook up the scanner.

I found the 6 pin connector but I can't seem to find the single pin connector that's supposed to be by itself(STI connector).
I don't have a code scanner so I have to use the "jumper wire" method and count flashes of the "check engine" light.

The single connector should be there somewhere coming out of the same part of the harness. i think www.corral.net has a good technical article about home testing the EEC-IV system as well as code retrieval with different jumpering techniques. Good luck,
