Which Roller Rocker?
I need to swap my 1.7 Roller rockers to a 1.6. Does anyone have any brands they were unhappy with? Any recommended ones? Mine are trick flow and I am trying to decide if it is worth spending the money for another set.

Re: Which Roller Rocker?
I didn't like the energizer ones from Crane, however, their Gold race set is really nice and durable.

Re: Which Roller Rocker?
i've had the fms pedastal 1.6's and also now have the harland sharp 1.6 for the stud mount. the fms were pretty nice and they worked great on my e7's. the harland sharps are holding up nicely too.

Re: Which Roller Rocker?
These are the ones I was considering. What do you not like about them?

Re: Which Roller Rocker?
They came apart after 3k miles and Crane said that was normal and it was time to replace. They do not have a very long life span. Just curious, why are you going down to 1.6's?

Re: Which Roller Rocker?
Honestly? Cause with the new heads I wasn't sure the 1.7's would clear, but I know the 1.6's will. That and I figured the 1.6's would be a little less strain on the valvetrain. I may just put the heads on and check for clearance with these now, cause I am kinda having second thoughts on spending the money now.
The heads going on it are Windsor Sr's with 2.02 intake valves

Re: Which Roller Rocker?
Same as the Trickflow's. I didn't know the windsor Sr's came like that. Are you running stock pistons? What kind of lift are you looking at with that cam?

Re: Which Roller Rocker?
Scorpion rockers are high qaulity, reasonable price and are guarantted for life - they will rebuild them if the bearings start to fail. I've never seen a catastrophic failure of one reported.

Re: Which Roller Rocker?
Tmoss-
Wada you think I should do. I do not have to worry about coil bind with the 1.7's, if they clear with no piston issues. Which would you run? My 1.7's are basically new, but money is not a Huge issue right now.

Re: Which Roller Rocker?
I ran the Crane Energizer rockers on last motor for over 10K miles. Never a problem.
I prefer the Crane "Gold" rockers. They are on new motor. If I remember correctly the Energizer rockers came from Ford on the first Cobra's. True the energizer's are a cast rocker. But, for street applications they seem fine. If you have lots of spring pressure, rpm, etc. Get the Gold rockers.
