![]() Has anyone here used a throttle body spacer plate on an EFI Mustang? I've seen them for fairly cheap and am confident I could do it myself.....well depending on that damn throttle blade assembly...eek....but is it worth it? Does it do anything at all?? I'm looking for every ounce of cheap power I can get here! Thanks all.

![]() If you are talking about that thing that is supposed to spin the air don't waste your money. Even if it did cause a change in airflow it would never make it to the cilinder because of the upper intake.

![]() Waste of time. Espically if you have blocked off your EGR.

![]() or are you talking about a egr eliminator ?
if you plug your egr the eliminator kit doesnt do much except if you have a n2o plate or need the space.

![]() I figured it had the same kinda effect as the "Tornado Air Management System"...which is to say that it has no effect at all. I think they're called something that starts with a P..some kind of technical term...Plen--- or Phen--something or other....something along those lines.
Speaking of EGR...are there any negative sideeffects of blocking the EGR plate? Do you have to get a special computer chip to disable the EGR and to keep you from throwing a code? I always hated EGR.....although I do like the idea of it cooling the piston tops.

![]() Are you talking about a PHENOLIC SPACER.. that goes between the upper and lower intake and theoreticaly keeps the heat from teh lower fromt soaking into the upper and keeps the air cooler.. though I cant imagine it does alot... I think most people use them to clear the valve covers

![]() YES...that's it..Phenolic.... Ok, I gotcha.....the auto parts place I was at had throttle body spacer plates, and phenolic spacers for carbs next to eachother...might've been mixing the two up. I doubt they make them for these do they? Thing must look funny as hell with the staggered Cobra intake.

![]() not entirely sure what applications they make them for, though i bet you can get them for any EFI intake, I have one for my TFS intake and I know you can get them for the stock instake.. you might have to go to a real performance place like summit but I bet they have em
