I'm running an edelbrock 600 and it sucks. It feels like my car is rdagging it's a*s and runs rich as sh*t no matter what I do to it, especially at idle (I've set the idle mixture so many times and only seems to affect idle speed, still runs rich). It's trashing my fuel economy. I'm gonna get a Mighty Demon in a few weeks (650cfm) and see how it works.

429mustang, sounds like either the float level is to high, or the power valve is toast.. or there's dirt in the needle valve..

five0guy, what jets/power valve are you running.. and whats the timing set at?

and have you pulled a plug to see if it's rich or lean?

Default carb

I am running a 750 with 78 jet in the primary and 80 in the secondary. The pump is at 35. 7 pounds of pressure thru a regulator. Timing it 36-38. Vac secondaries come in about 2500. The carb is fine, no bog etc. Might check fuel pressure and jets - floats as other guy said.

I'd say it waas either of the two also, but I've set the float a number of times, the last time I set it slightly lower than it says to have it. As far as dirt, it's possible but my filter is clean and it has happened every time I've reset it?????

I don't know what the deal is, I've reset the floats 3 times, it ran good each time for about 2-3 days then out of nowhere would load up real bad during full throttle and run rich all the time. For a while it would be so bad that I couldn't give it full or even past 1/2 throttle without it almost stalling after it would take off for a few seconds. The last time I set the floats it did the whole deal with it loading up for a while, but now it just runs rich all the time. I put a 1 inch open carb spacer on tonight, it bogs out a little when I go from light to full throttle, and I can't tell if it's helping in the upper rpm yet caust I think I need to re-adjust the kickdown cable (700R4 trans), it doesn't downshift most of the time and won't rev high before shifting so I still have to tune it a little. If anyone knows who has the best prices on Mighty Demon or Speed Demon carbs let me know.
