help want 300rwhp need cam
Ok I need some help picking a cam. My setup is 302 stock bottom end with edelbrock 6037's with some work,1.6rr,gt40 intake lower ported, 70mm tb,75mm mass air,24 lbs,afpr,190pump,long tubes,2 ½ flowmaster,355 gears and it’s a 5spd. I want to get to 300 rear wheel horse power what cam can make that power and not have to notch the pistons, and this is a street strip car

you should be close already, do some tuning, get a fuel pressure regulator if you dont have one, have you dyno'd?
An e-cam or trickflow#1 cam should be alright with no piston modifications. or get a 1.7 rocker with the stock cam, should be making some good power. oops just realized you have afpr, well people have got 300 rwhp out of a stock cam im pretty sure......someone else may know more on this topic, try and free up hp, with pullies, electric fan ect....you should be close to 290 rwhp already, let us know.

Your setup sounds a lot like mine. Mine dynoed 298 RWHP. Read my profile and see if I got anything you do not.

Custom Grind They are only a little bit more and they work alot better, I'd stay away from the letter cams if I was you, my second choice would probably be a TFS stage 1, or maybe something similar with split lift/duration, and if you want really good driveability, make sure you get something with a lobe seperation of at least 112. HTH!

E cam and 1.7s here, no valve/piston clearance issues.
