Default Shorty headers (equal length)

Hey guys just wanted to know before I buy a set of BBK Equal length shorty headers, do you have to modify any spark plug? Cause I seen on a site when you read up on the equal length ones it says you "may need to modify spark plug". Can anyone tell me if this is true? Or should I just buy unequal length so there won't be any trouble? Also is there a big difference from buying equal or unequal hearders? By the way I have a 1992 LX 5.0.

Thanks.

Default I like MAC!

Mac equal length shorty headers work real good. Just a little tight on the passenger side. I also used heat wrap to stop my wire boots from being exposed on the passenger side header.

I have MAC 1 5/8 equal shorties and there was no interference problems. You just need to do some acrobatics to get some of the passenger side plugs in. You might need a u-joint extension to put the sparkplug socket onto. Get some 90 degree wires because the 45 degree ones sometimes come too close to the headers and get the rubber burned off them.

Thanks for the reply guys I appreciate it. All being said should I go for the unequal headers then cause I don't want to be buying any more wires. Is there that much difference from equal length to unequal? thanks.

5 speed? Why don't you just get some longtubes? A l/t install is not as terrible as some people make it sound. Unbolt the block, jack it up as high as she will go, and slide in the passenger side. Remove the steering shaft, slide in driver side l/t, replace steering shaft. Drop block down...presto change-o

no no no! Go equals. It's not that big of a deal. Just use wire looms or tape wires together. The equals sound so much meaner

I would like to thank everyone who responded to my add it was very usefull and all being said now I will go with the 1 5/8" EQUAL length headers. I seen on "sac mus" some fire sleeving made for spark plug wires for equal length headers prevents burning, only like 7 bucks.

BBk or Mac Equals... They work great, Little Tite and the plug boots definely get a set of wire looms. Dynawires make a great plug wire with looms at the end and are think as hell. A great complinent to your headers, get the mac h-pipe, the one that has the split in drivers side pipe.. Installation is a dream with that setup.
