16" Lincoln Wheels or Turbines
2 questions...
First, I found a set of 16" wheels off an early '90s Mark 7 Lincoln. They are a turbine style and are in excellent shape. Would these fit on an '87 stang? I wasn't really looking for them so I didn't have a ruler to measure the back spacing. They have a machined Aluminum outer rim with dark gray spokes or fins. Second, does anyone have 2 15" turbine wheels (without tires) they would like to sell? With or without center caps. I need 2 to mount my drag radials on. Michigan area would be best to avoid shipping costs, but not required. Clear coat and paint can be peeling as I will be refinishing them anyway. Thanks

Yes, I know I would have to convert to five lug to use the lincoln wheels.

Here is a picture of the wheels I am talking about. Should be off an '88 Lincoln Mark VI.

Thanks. I thought it would cost more than that to ship 2 wheels.

Does anyone know about the Lincoln Wheels???
I may just go get them and try it myself. I think they would look nice on the black LX.

Turbines....
I've got three 15" turbines with Goodyear Eagle GT II's on 'em in the garage. Took them off in November.
Let me know if you are interested...

Thanks, but I just set up a deal with a guy in Detroit for 4 since I am going there in a couple of weeks anyway. Apparently these are getting somewhat hard to find so I'll hold on to the 2 I don't need in case someone else ends up needing some in the future. Plus if the Lincoln wheels will work and I convert to 5 lug I will have 2 full sets to sell.

Well, I went a bought the wheels today. $40 for all four with center caps. The have a back spacing of about 5" (give or take 0.25" for rough measurment). That should let them work if I don't go overboard on the tire width. They do have a little curb rash but they aren't going on a show car. I sat one next to the car and it looks really nice. I am going to "try" to photochop them on a pic of the car and then I'll post that, but give me a couple of days.

Here it is
Well I got the Lincoln wheels on the car. Here is a pick. I went with 225/50/16's front and 245/50/16's rear in a Dayton Daytona ZR. Nice tires. The Lincoln wheels are the exact same dimensions as a pony wheel except 5 lug so they fit just fine. I did have to flip the quad shocks for the 245's but the car is lowered too.

Thanks! As much as I like the '98 Cobra wheels everyone has them, or some other 5 spoke wheel. I like to be different.
