Default well 13:1 compression, and 11lb of boost at the track.. results within.

car ran a strong 6.6 in the 1/8th.. but had slung the belt off at half track.. no harm. we reinstalled the belt and tried again.. this time it slung it off the 60ft mark and shreded it so i ran a 7.1 all motor.

i was experiencing flex in the stock pully tentioner.. luckally my friend that ownes a machine shop was there and helping me trouble shoot.. basically the pully, and belt system wasnt designed for 9,000 rpm shift points. so he's fabbing me up another one.. he even offered to open up sunday morning at 7 am and have it done by noon if i wanted to go racing tonight.. but i couldnt find a belt anywhere so that idea was scrapped... (butlers machine shop is the best!!!)

i wanted to get this thing tuned strictly for the blower first before i tried the spray again.. so we'll see next weekend hopefully..

update over! suggestions?

Big Big question how have you found out how to run a roots blower with no belt ?

i have a 349 with worked afr 205's, .700inch solid roller, roots blower, 950dp and big shot nitrous plate...

compression is 13:1,
running 11lb of boost,
8600 rpm shift point,
and 225 shot on top of it all...

i was experiencing flex in the stock pully tentioner ?? with a roots blower ?

when we ran a roots if the belt came off the car stalled . because when the rotors arent turning the vacum from the pistons cant pull enough air past the rotors to run.

I bet someone will bring up mad Max but that blower was specially made by weidland and the rotors were trimmed to provide little boost but to let air flow when the drive was disengaged.the main thing was letting the car run with the belt disengagede. huge money was spent for those scenes.

also we would travel with 5-10 belts in the car because you never knew when you had to change one and there not a part you can get just anywhere .Are's were 4 inch wide and Dad bought them in bulk. also we had diffrent belts for diffrent snout pulleys,

techically Brad's blower is a screw type not a roots blower.

ok see thats what was confussing me a roots orerates diffrent than a screw the tolerences are completely diffrent and a screw is cooler alowing the higher boost with higher static comprestion.

also do you have a bipass valve on the screw charger that would allow it to run without the belt.

sorry a roots and a kennebell are totally diffrent beasts.

it makes sence now.
