Default upper torque box?

Was wondering how many people have had problems with upper torque boxes (upper control arm mounts) being torn out or welds
breaking? I read an article in magazine about cutting out factory
mounts and installing aftermarket bracket. Seems like a lot of work and not sure if it is really necessary. I won't being running huge horsepower, but want to build a pretty healthy engine. Any info would be appreciated.

AKA, battle boxes. They are a great upgrade to the suspension. If you are not putting down some decent power and running at the track every weekend, it probably isn't necessary for now.
