No smog Inspec. No Emmissions, this is going in a project car, HOT Rod reg. as a Classic.....so we don't need to conform!

EFI to carbs
I picked up a Holley distributor for my 5.0 HO conversion to carbs, but one of my friends said something about needing to have a different gear and shaft length issues. Can anyone shead some light on this issue?

I converted my 89 a year ago,I am using a Proform GM style distributor, with the steel gear that came on it,no wear on the cam or gear so far,and it was only 130.00..The conversion isnt too bad, just a bit costly.

FORD AOD
1992 5.0 HO w/AOD, it's going in my project car, all CPU, electronics, EFI are gone, converted to carbs.
A friend told me I needed some electrical for the AOD, is this true? What is needed? Are there 3rd party vendors? |

No, if it is an AOD. There is an AODE that needs the computer to function properly and you can tell this by the clump of electrical connectors scattered all around the transmission main body. The regular AOD has 1 measly connector.

Hey, is there a way to set the TV by pressures? I'm hooking up a pressure guage fulltime to sit in my pod in the cabin. I know that it's supposed to be zero at idle/park and 85-100(something) at cruise. But what about everywhere else?

Sorry, I had to go on travel.
Thanks for the reply "crazypete". The AOD trany has one SWR, four pin connector, near the shift selector. I'm looking for more detail info on the AOD to make sure. Again, thanks! |
