Default oil leaking from top of dip-stick

I have a 1995 MUSTANG GTS and i have had a problem with the oil spraying out of the top of the dip-stick since day one. I pulled out the PCV valve and Filter and put new ones in, but my problem still persists when i lay down on the loud pedal. Everytime i hit the loud pedal, oil squirts from the top of the dip-stick onto my headers and valve covers. I have heard putting a breather cap on the driver's side valve cover could solve this problem. Is this true or does anyone else have any other suggestions to solve my problem.

thank you

Check your compression...sounds like you have some blow-by. The intense pressure from combustion is pushing hot gasses past the rings.

In the meantime be very careful of running out of oil. My Mom's Volkswagen had a cylinder seize and the rod smacked a 3-4 inch hole in the side of the block.

Did you pull the little metal screen out of the bottom where the pcv valve goes? Not sure if that's the filter your talking about or not, but it sounds like your not getting any crankcase ventilation through the normal channels so it's finding another path.

How many miles on the motor, is it stock or modified?

Buddy of mine with a 332 had to use a vacuum pump because he wasn't getting enough crankcase ventilation and was shooting his dipstick out of the tube on hard launches.

How many miles?

Is the tube that runs from the TB to the oil fill tube still in place?

my 1995 MUSTANG GTS currently has 158,000 km's. Everything is in place except for the smog pipe vacuum line. I have checked the pcv lines and they are all in functioning order, I have been told it could be a rear seal that has blown due to worn piston rings, i am gonna do a dry compression test and then do a wet compression test to get directly to the problem, hopefully it is not my rings. Has anyone else experienced this problem?, The car has been spitting oil out the dip-stick since day one but it is progressively getting worse and consuming alot of oil, not burning oil just leaking. Any suggestions would be appreciated

You're on the right track. Do a dry and wet comp test, and you'll probably find your answer. I'm betting your rings are shot.

Take care,
~Chris
