Default How much HP will this combo make?

This is what my setup is going to be.......soon!!

351w (.060)
10:1 flat top pistons
Thumper heads
Comp Cam 292*(244*@.050) .534 lift
BBK shorties with 2.5 flowmaster exhaust
Carter 625 carb (750cfm later)
Edlebrock preformer intake with 2inch spacer

How much HP do you think I'll be making?
It's going into my '82GT mustang with C-4 tranny with a 2800 stall converter and 3:73 gears.

If you feel up to it, do you want to take a stab at what E.T's will be?

Thumper heads are ported & polished E7 heads with 5 angle valve job, bowl work...the whole nine yards. They outflow the GT-40 series heads off the shelf and cost half as much.($595) to your door!!

Check his website out at: thumperoforangepark.com

Btw, is that 335HP estimate flywheel or at the wheels?

They only flow 219 Int and 151 exh. might be nice for a mild 302 but won't be too good for a 351. I guess is that you'll make good torque but it'll be all done by 5k.

Isn't that what you want for the street though? Reving up much past 6k isn't ideal for street use anyway.
The 351w doesn't really like to rev really high like that because of their large journals on the cranks.
Only the '69-70 351 heads had larger ports and after that they had the same port and valve sizes of the 302's
Heads with higher flow numbers require higher rpms to make HP.
It's all about flow velocity which is important for a street motor.

I couldn't agree with you more, but the more flow AND velocity you can get, the better your car will run. Good luck with the combo.
