whats next? control arms
Well. Im going to order some wheels and tires for my car in spring (im thinking either Pony's or Cobra R knock offs) 89 Convertable LX. I am going to order the Factory five control arms, and have my Steeda Subframes welded up. While they are under the car im going to have my torque boxes welded up, and then im going to slap in a new diff. On my old 10 holes im going to bolt on some slicks...
My questions are #1 with a 4.10, on a 245/45R16 tire, im at 4800 at about 1000', if I go up to a 28" slick will that be enough? Or will there still be to much gear #2 with $800 to spend, what do you recommend a. intake, cam, roller rockers b. upgrade to an S trim (already have the 10# a trim) c. something else? |

Suggestion 1.
Save the $800 until you have enough for aluminum heads, injectors, MAS and the like. Suggestion 2. Go with the intake, 1.7 ratio roller rockers route, keep stock cam (the money you save on not buying a cam can be saved for heads). Suggestion 3. Go with intake, blower cam, and roller rockers. These are just some suggestions. Also with a 28" tire you should be alright with a 4.10. ------------------ 88GT stock shortblock, ported GT-40 iron heads, ported Edlebrock Performer intake, 24# inj, Pro-M 75mm Bullet MAM, 3.73, hurst short throw, F-303, electric fan, alum rad, FMS HD clutch, R134a ac conversion, 70mm TB , and some other stuff I probably forgot, best run so far on ET streets is 13.02@106 with a 1.87 60ft. I already have the 1.7rr's, I also already have 24 pound injectors, 73 mm Mass Air, 70 MM throttle body, full exhaust, etc. With a stock Intake, would heads be that worth while? I could always take the $800 and get Trick flow heads...
Thanks |
