Default HP estimate for this combo...

Anyone have an idea of the HP numbers for this combo:

Stock shortblock
GT-40 iron heads
Explorer intake
MAC cold air induction
FMS unequal headers
1.7 roller rockers
Crane Ignition
76mm MAF and 65mm TB
----------------------------
I was thinking about this combo until I can build up a longblock with cam and other goodies. What about with a DSS 306 shortblock or gt-40 shortblock for later? I don't need exact numbers, just a guess on flywheel HP. Thanks.

Depends on your cam. If you're planning on a stock cam or something like the E303, you'll be somewhere around 260-270rwhp. I'm not a fan of the mass produced shortblocks, especially if you're planning on really pumping up the volume later. I'd rather spend my money with a good local builder so that I've got confidence on how it was assembled and the level of quality going into it.

I figure around 260-270 to the wheels. If you have electric fan and no power steering. Your combo is a lot like mine. I do run A/C. My race weight full tank and driver was 3127 and ran 8.30-8.40 1/8th mile on true radials. Good luck
