If you're talking about a T45 from a newer mustang then i can't believe it holds 400lb/ft of torque. I know a couple of people with newer mustangs and T45's that have already gone through 3 or 4 with the stock engine (although they did abuse them). Are you talking about a factory mustang T45? if i were you i'd go and research the torque ratings before you buy anything and get some hard numbers because you may actually be buying a weaker transmission. Good luck, and post what you find, i'm really interested to see if they are stronger because if it is then i'll have to get one myself.

I was under the impression the T-45 had a longer input shaft which is not compatable with the 5.0?

Apparently Unit 5302 and I got the same info. I thought that T-45 trannys wouldn't bolt straight up to a Fox bodied 5.0 car due to a difference in length of the input shaft. Although, I (we) could be wrong. I know I've heard of people running them, but not without some modifications to the tranny.

Your screwed up. Gears as big as a tremec? How big are gears? What gears? 400ft lbs? Oh yeah sure, what 4.6 GT puts out near that about. You really think they would make them that strong? They break all the time! They are rated at 285-300ftlbs I forget exactly where in there. But theres debate which is stronger T-5 or T-45. And yes they wont fit a 5.0 with out extensive modification. I bet your buddy has a T-56.
