Chambersize and comp (stock heads)? and mill??
I want to mill my heads little...? how much can I mill? We have 95-98 octane petrol here. 0,30 mill how much in comp will that do???

Yeah, living in Sweden, you have the good gas, like Europe. You can raise your compression probably to 11:1 with the good gas available. You will have to ask a machine shop to figure out the specifications. You probably need to mill .060 or more.

with KB Silvolite 110 pistons, .030 over bore and stock heads milled .055 you will have around 10.5:1 compression. this is my setup. if you mill anymore than .055 you have to mill your intake to make up the difference. if you go less than .055 the intake will not be affected. i run pump gas 93 octane.

Stock heads are 64cc. Trick Flow twisted wedge,for example, is 62cc. Use the 64cc and stock compression of 9.0:1 to calculate how much to shave. Don't go over 10.5:1 compression.
Although you say you have 95-98 octane, is the octane rating the same units as we use in the U.S.? If the units are different you may not be able to raise your compression much at all. Look in the tech articles for the gasoline discusion for the different types of gas ratings. Does this answer your question? mike |

I asked this exact same question awhile back and decided to go for a .030 shave and was told it would be close to 9.5:1 compression. I too never got a direct answer as to the exact compression with .030 shaved, only guesses. But that'll do for me I "guess"

With mine shaved .030, with stock pistons, 1.94 / 1.60 valves, and the E cam. I had 180PSI on every cylinder. It ran 12.60 @ 108. with a B cam, I have not track tested with the E yet.

due to the production variances in the E7TE casting, the chambers have been measured from 60.6cc to 63cc. Pull them and use liquid to fill them up. This is the poor mans way to do it. If you take them to a machine shop they can do it for you.

You need to know what the deck height is in your engine and the compressed thickness of the head gasket is to really know what the static compression is. The "deck height" is the measurement of how far down in the bore the piston is at TDC. If you don't know these measurements, then static compression is just a guess.
