At 6250, but most stock tachs are way off at that range so you might see your rpms go as far as 7000 as mine does.

Are the tachs. all electronic, and not really mechanically attached to any rotating part of the engine??

tachs are electronic. they work off of a signal from the coil. How often it fires, it translates to engine rpm.

not trying to talk modular in here but i had a '96 gt with a vortech s-trim on it and my rev limiter would shut things down right on 6 grand. to get good times i had to learn to start my shift at 5800 when the motor felt like it was really beginning to pull. my 95 cobra pulls right to the 6200 rev limiter though.

Cool

My 2000 GT rev limiter cuts in at 6250. I know the 4.6 is good for alot more though, as Sean Hyland proved. No rev limiter on my 65 stang with the 289 though, DUH
I friend of mine was trying to help me work on the 289 and I told him to start her up and give it alittle gas. Well the dumba$$ thought hed be funny and rev the engine a little. He floored the gas and started it up. I heard the engine scream to life and dove away for my life. After he let off the gas it shutdown (Huge vacuum leak), and asked me "When the needle on this thing gets to 7, is that bad." while pointing to my tach. He said it went the whole way up to 7000 rpm. Well, I know I at least built it right. Didnt think it would take a 7000 rpm blast though.

Thumbs down

I hate blatant BS. That's what that graph illustrates.

If Dodge released it they need to be sued, but I can't imagine a more inaccurate dyno run.

Look at the curves.

Torque at 1000rpm appears to be at around 400lb/ft according to the graph (hard to read because of fat *** lines). If that was the case, the truck would have about 76hp at that point, not the 220hp indicated. I also cannot believe they would start the run at around 500rpm Again at 2000rpm based on the crappy fat torque line, the motor would be making 445lb/ft which would mean 170hp, not 260 like shown. At 3000 it would be close to on, at 4000 again pretty accurate about 10hp low according to torque, but then the 5000 it's off by more than 100hp! With 400lb/ft at 5000, it would make 380hp, not 260.

That dyno graph is so misleading it's beyond reason that a major manufacturer could use it, and I'm smelling something stinky.

Does everyone know that you can extend the stock rev limiter that shuts off the fuel pump at 6250 to 6450 by wiring the fuel pump to a switched 12 volts?

The injectors are cut off at 6450.

The relay for the fuel pump is under the driver seat.

90dpscoupe, the limiter only works when the engine is using its own power to rev too high. Rev limiters cut out spark or fuel, neither of which was needed when the cars momentum is turning the engine. If you get going 90mph and shift into 1st gear, cutting spark or fuel out is not going to stop the engine from being turned at the rpms needed to go that speed in 1st gear.
