Default flush gas tank?

I have a 86gt that has been asleep for 4-5 years. It was properly put away with a full gas tank and stabilizer. Its time to wake it up this spring. However I'm concerned with evaporated gas/varnish in the tank plugging the filter, wipe the pump or worse. Should the tank be dropped, washed and wiped out or change the filter once a week and press on?? Thanks in advance.

IMO, that is what the stabilizer is for, you should be good to go.

Its been a little over a month now with no problems. I changed the fuel filter recently and cut it apart. No trash inside. Highly recommend Amsoil fuel system stabilizer.
