Misc. engine install questions
First off, when I go to install my engine this weekend, will I be able to use the 88 cougar motor mounts on my 84 body? (the 84 mounts are shot). If the 88 mounts are bad, should I get the rubber kind, or the solid steel motor mounts?
I am going to by a new clutch just to be on the safe side, has anyone ever used zoom clutches? ($95 for the kit, I'm on a tight budget, saw it in the summit & jegs catalogs). Last question, when I go to mount my fuel pump on the frame rail near the tank, should I buy a relay kit, or just buy my own wires? If so what gauge? |

I don't think you can use those mounts. Not sure. If you go shopping for mounts the rubber mounts are fine. Get the ones for a convertible, they are cheaper. Use at least 14 gauge wire for the pump. I would use 12 gauge wire, 30 amp relay, with a 15-20 amp toggle switch. Or you could wire it into the ignition switch if you prefer. I have never used zoom clutches and could say one way or another.
