I'm baaaaaack...
Hey guys and gals,
I'm back, been gone for quite some time. I went through a little relocation which started about a year ago now. My job took me from my home in MN and I now am down here in NC. Had my Mustang trailered down last winter and enjoyed driving it during the winter months for the first time of the cars life. Things got a little crazy with this change so I have not been able to keep in touch. Anyway, I just ran across a nice little Fox Body that I thought would be a nice car for my wife. It is a 92 1/2 convertable with 60k miles. The guy referred to it as a summer special that Ford only made 2000 of. It is that redish orange color with a white top and the white pony wheels. The car is pretty clean and is completly stock, even the air silencer is still in this car. So when I ask the guy the price he tells me 14k. Seemed a little steep to me. I'm not saying the car is not worth that much, I'm just saying it is not worth that much to me. I was thinking more in the neighborhood of 6k. I mean my 87 only has about 50k and it has about 10k in extras, and in much better shape than this 92. I don't think I could get 14 for mine if it were for sale. What do you guys think? |

Maybe if it was a mint 93 cobra it would be worth 12.
way too steep for a 92 vert. I remember you. You always had some good nitrous kills.

First, Welcome back!
Now, as for this 'summer special' Mustang...I know exactly what you're talking about and NO, it's not worth $14k. My 91 coupe stickered for aroud 14,500, so that 92 being a convertible, plus another year of inflation, plus the 'summer special' thing, it probably went for around $16,500, MSRP. With 60,000 on the clock and bone stock, I wouldn't think it's worth nearly $14k. Maybe $8,000, maybe - and that's if it's in really good shape. JMO. E

This is probably the same car as these one on ebay.
Ebay 1 Ebay 2 I know this is not the better place to buy one but if you're locally. Why not. I don't think this can be consider as a rare car. I'm actually looking for a convertable and i've saw a lot of this model since a year on ebay at a lot of different price. 14K look like very expensive for a 1992 lx mustang. Fall is the best time to buy a convertible. So, wait a little. You'll surely get it at the price you want. my 0.02$ |

But back to the point, yes IMO 14K is WAY too much for that car.

Welcome back.
Yeah, that car is not worth any more than any clean 92 vert. Maybe its just me, but I've seen probably 1,000 of the "2,000" of those cars down here in CA

Yeah that's what I thought, way too much money.
Hey White GT, yep, the one I was looking at is just like the ones you found on ebay, nice looking car but 6k would be the most I would pay for it. There just isn't anything really special about it. And thanks for the welcome back guys, it's nice to be back! |

And if you wish to start a collection.
On ebay again (serial ........22 and .............23) Look strange! I remember have already saw this auction a month ago but the seller still a "0" rating. Anyway! Look like a nice car. White seats and black dash and carpet. Specially in perfect shape after all these years. And the door pocket are firm like the first time. Hummmmm! I like it. |
