Default Hidden upgrades

I want to do things to my car that can't be seen to make it faster so I can say it's stock. I'm thinking 3.73s, exhaust, cam, but I dunno what else to do. Any ideas?

well your cam isnt gonna do much without a set of good heads and you have to change your lifters with the cam.

Why would he "have" to change his lifters? Most people dont change there lifters with a cam change on a 5.0 unless they are bad.

Gears definitely. If you are wanting a sleeper, get a quiet aftermarket exhaust. Underdrive pulleys would also be good.

You could also extrude hone the intake.

Because lifters wear with the cam. If you keep old lifters in with a brand new cam, you can have problems.

Roller lifters hardly wear at all. You dont HAVE to change the lifters. You really don't even HAVE to change the lifters on a flat tappet motor. But, it might be a good idea. Roller lifters are expensive man, so I'd use the old ones, unless they're visibly damaged.

all the machine work you can think of....gasket matching and so forth....think people would notice if he had a set of aftermarket Iron heads painted the same as the engine? Maybe the gt40's or the like?

If you are going to change the cam I would spend a couple of extra bucks on a high flow water pump.

your gonna be able to tell it's got a cam when you start it.

gears
control arms
roller rockers
nitrous (hidden)
aluminum heads painted black
GT-40 irons (most people can't tell the difference between them and E7's)
pulleys
shifter

Those are just some suggestions, it depends on how big your budget is

-Josh, aka the tireburner

p.s. Most people don't change their lifters with a roller cam. I didn't

I can port your stock lower intake and give you 15+HP/TQ - paste the link in my signature for more information and dyno results.

Definately go with the gear, like it was mentioned before, the cam will talk to people through a good exhaust, suspension upgrades would be the best thing also, along with some help with weight reduction, aluminum driveshaft, battery removal kit.

PS. 4.10's IMO

Trueeee babyyyy. And yeah. like someone else said, people will DEFINATLEY notice your car isn't stock if u have a cam. GET GEARRSSSSS. 4.10 if u got an auto and don't drive on the Highway to much. AND match that with a torque converter. That's f'n hot. 3.73's if u got a 5 speed.
