Post Need advice fast on a/c !!!

My a/c compressor locked up yesterday. I have to get a new one but I was wondering if I should also get a new accumulator. I didn't really want to get the accumulator because I don't have the tools to disconnect the lines to it.
Also, are remanufactured compressors from the local parts store o.k., or should I get one from Ford?
I'm leaving in 2 or 3 days on vacation so I could use some quick answers here.

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about the accumulator but I would make sure and put a vaccume on the system after you get the compressor on to remove any moisture from the system. Not sure what to tell you on the "new" ver "re-built" issue, guess you need to weigh the price differance and go from there. I would much rather have a new one but don't know what cost differance we are talking about... Good luck!!

They say to replace the accumulator when you do the compressor

Eh, who needs A/C? It's just added weight.
