Default Results of E.T poll are in

My best E.T was a 13.78@104mph. Traction was a major problem since I had street tires and discovered my trac-loc was shot.(only one wheel spinning)

I had to ease it off the line and then hit it after the 60' mark to break the 13's
I was running 14.1 and 14.2's until a got better leaving the line

Here is what my best time slip looked like:

R/T......... .170
60'........2.323
330'......6.056
660'......9.048
mph......82.31
1000'....11.629
1/4........13.798
mph.......103.92

I still think it has 12 second potential but not without proper suspension and slicks.
What do I need(suspension) to break into the 12's

Is this a good time slip without slicks and a stock suspension?

By your 60', I think you were asleep at the wheel. j/k

Seriously, I believe your ass-end is probably all over the place. You at least need new upper and lower control arms, preferrably adjustable ones but not a necessity. Factory Five Racing makes a NICE set for a decent price. Lowering springs would be a good investment, as well. A shot Traction-Lok didn't help either as you found out; I suggest an Auburn replacement.

Overall, not too bad on street tires and a stock rear. You get a cookie.

What RPM were you shifting at, BTW?

Default Auburn Pro

Ditto on the Auburn Pro. I just relaced my shot T-Lock with one and couldn't be happier.

At first, I was shifting at 5500 rpms but then realized it still pulled until 6000rpm.
My cam card says the cam range is between 2000-5500

Do you think new upper/lower arms and slicks will drop me into the 12's

with just the slick you should be close if not in the 12's. when i did a H,C,E swap on my car i picked up .4, then i switched to slicks and picked up another .4. i was running a soft compound tire that i could get 60's in the 1.8 range. now on slick i 60' in the low 1.7's and a few 1.6's.

Fix the trak-loc, get some adjustable upper control arms, eibach drag springs, steeda lower control arms, 90/10 struts, 50/50 shocks. Put some slicks on that, and see 11's all night long.

And I would do the Auburn replacement as well. I would also go to 31 spline axles since you are going to change the differential anyway. Then you only buy it once.

I didn't see an 8.8" or 9" rear end on your mod list. Are you still running the 7.5 that came with the car? if so you can probably say goodbye to it once you start getting traction. Other than that though, knocking .5 second off your sixty foot is good for a full second at the top end, which would put you solidly into the mid 12's.

Unfortunatly, yes but I have plans on the upgrade.

I didn't really "play" with the engine when I was there such as advance/retard timing, carb. adjustments etc.
Plus I had 3/4 tank of gas which was silly on my part or maybe not cause traction would have suffered even more.
I think I can still knock a few more tenths off with street tires with some minor tweaking here and there.

This guy talking 11's is an idiot. Get some TIRES. You need tires peroid. A good set of slicks is all you'll need. your making almost 104mph. With a 1.7 60' you should be able to run a 12.8-12.9. Id like to see more than 104mph out of your car with its combo, dunno how good your heads, are, but you might benefit from a tune. Also what gear?

SKYMAN , my heads are only '74 heads which have been ported & polished and 1.94/1.60 valves installed. I know they're not high dollar aftermarket but they were done over by a very good machine shop. I'm sure I'm better off with these than the stockers that had puny 1.78/1.50 valves.
How much E.T will I gain with slicks alone?
I'm sure my trap speed will increase with better 60' times.
My gears are 3:73's but later on they will be 4:30's
I didn't really mess with timing or anything like that when I was there.
Yeah, no slicks are what's killing my 60' and E.T times right now.
I'm going to remove the P/S and play with the tuning and see if I can't drop a few more tenths yet.
Slicks right now will destroy my 7.5 rearend(8.8 rear is also in future plans)

get rid of that 7.5.. you can get a 8.8 complete with axles at year one for 650 bucks with whatever gear ratio you want.
