Question valve cover venting

Hey guys,

I asked this on another board with no response so here goes. Both valve covers vent to the intake. One to the plenum and one to the intake tube. This seems like it would draw alot of hot air into the engine. Is it safe to delete these or is the air pulled through the valve covers done for some reason other than emissions?

the crankcase ventilation system not only helps keep emissions down, it helps your motor breathe and keeps the contaminants from blowby, etc from building up inside the motor so fast.

clean oil is happy oil.

What he said. Plus piston rings seal better at lower crankcase pressure.

Also, only one tube is actually venting. Air flows from the intake tube (before throttle), into the crankcase, out of the pcv valve, then to the intake manifold. This is because all air entering the engine needs to be measured by the MAF. If it isn't, then it acts like a vacuum leak.
