That sounds like a pretty good power making combo, but i don't know about that high stall converter for daily driving....gas mileage would be horrible. What kind of transmission will it have? If it's a C4, i'd reconsider the 3,000 stall for driving everyday. If you have an AOD you might be alright if it's a lockup converter.

There's no doubt that it'll haul though.

650 Holley, Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap, and the heads and cam of your choice. You'll never regret that intake, that's for sure. Its a wonderful piece that's great for daily driving, and definitely at home at the strip too.

3000 stall shouldnt be That bad on the street. Basically just do what YOU want. if you want to turn some great numbers on the street then go for it. From the sounds of it your combo would like the 3000 stall. And id have to agree on the Performer RPM Air Gap. I got one and i love it. Over the summer the car is daily driven and ive never had a problem with it. I just have to get some money so i can replace my edelbrock 600 with a 650 DP.

Your stall should be determined after you know where the motor will make peak torque. What ever the stall is that you pick, with enough power, at the track the converter will flash to that point anyway. 2500 to 3K should be OK for your application. Since you speak 1/8 mile and have an AOD why not go 3.73's or even 4.11's?
Should be OK with the AOD. Maybe someone here can calculate what RPM it would be spinning at freeway speeds.

If you have an aod, a 3,000 stall would probably be acceptable although don't expect to get 20mpg from the thing, i personally would rather have the power than the mileage. A stock stall i believe is rated from 1800 to 2200 rpm, i think most after market companies make stalls around the areas of 2500rpm, 3000rpm etc. in certain ranges (stalls depend on hp/load).
