Unhappy Work hard to back up. This sucks.

My 11.60 car let me down last night. 12.74 @ 107 was my best pass. The car feels like it is flying, but has no bottom end. I ran on radials just to see the 114- 116 mph that I should be seeing now, with the new cam and elec water pump, but it would not turn the numbers. I almost think it is the computer. Why would a engine rap up like crazy, then not run strong while under way?

Looks like you lost about 90-100 HP somewhere.

Anytime a motor seems to be running fine but not fast its almost always the timing.

My brothers camaro went from a 14.10 to a 15.00 after a head and cam change. He had a bad distributor that had his timing all fucked up. After he fixed that he went from 15.00 to a mid 13.

Since you've had a timing problem in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if that's what it was. Either that, or the cam you put in isn't dialed in correctly. If you get no low end at all that would mean that maybe the cam timing is retarded a bit much, which might cause your ignition timing to need to be way too high for some reason. I really don't know, just a guess, maybe other people know more. Or you might have problems with your cam not fitting with your combo well. Just out of curiousity what tranny and rear gear setup do you have?
