Default Ignition Question

This may just be another dumb question to some people, but what would be the difference in performance if I upgraded my ignition system? I have Bosch Platinum 4's in my engine now, so I'm wondering is it worth spending the money to upgrade my ignition? If so, what exactly would I have to buy to completely upgrade my ignition system, and why? Thanks for any imput/ suggestions!!

Basically when you upgrade your ignition to something like an MSD, you usually won't see any real performance gain UNLESS, your current ignition system is getting weak.

If your current ignition isn't providing a powerful spark in the higher RPM's, then the MSD or whatever you choose will provide a powerful spark up through the entire power band. That's when you'd notice a performance difference.

Other than the above, all it will do for you is 1) look good in your engine compartment, 2) may improve your gas mileage, 3) have easy accessories that can plug into it (MSD 6AL has a tach port, and other MSD accessories can be used with it as well)

Did that answer your question?

Thumbs down get rid of those plugs

first off get rid of the the Bosch Platinum 4's junk
these cars run there best on the cheapest copper plugs out there
Autolites 25's will do for now put the cheap coppers in and you will feel a difference

The only ignition thing that i would personally really reccomend is a better coil. In my old car i had a brand new factory replacement coil in it and when i put in a blaster 2 it started quite a bit faster. I dont know if it made any big power differences but it mad eit run smoother and start faster.
