What should this car run?
You guy's have helped me all along and I think I should be faster than the 8.61 @80.7 the only time I went to strip since tune, also first time on M/T ET Streets (26x10's) 60' times were off a bit compared to the old tall Mcreary's (1.94's from 1.86's). Spun every time in first gear. P.S.:3.73 gears, stock rear suspension, 3330 lbs
What do you suppose I should be in the 1/8th? Thanks, may go back before tracks close.

Re: What should this car run?
You should be in the 8.20's at a minimum. Put on some slicks, dump the clutch at about 5 grand, bang the gears at about 6 grand and it shouldnt be a problem.

Re: What should this car run?
8.60's @ 80mph in the 8th is around 13.40's @ 100 in the 1/4 right? With a 331, even low compression, heads, cam, intake, and gears, that car should be running high 12's at the worst. Somethings wrong IMO. Your right, you should be faster.

Re: What should this car run?
You can get more out of that combo, My tired 302 is around 290 at the wheels, well at least thats what the online dyno says.
keep posted, and like mentioned above, dump the clutch 5k with no remorse At 5k dump, I pull 1.70's 60's on 26x8.5 m/t's.

Re: What should this car run?
I think 8.20's as well, the old bolt on motor with shaved E7's went 8.75 @ 79.8 at another track.
I believe the combo of spinning off the line due to first time on ET streets, and I only had one pass that I felt good about all the shifts(but I spun bad and ruined that pass), resulted in the disappointing ET's and 60 ft's, plus I don't really like that track. Anyway I'll get it done , should I stay on the MT's or go back to the Mccreary's????? If I stay on the ET Streets what air pressure should I be at 16-17 lbs is my usual at that pressure the MT's spun but the taller Mccreary's HOOK, But I got the shorter MT's because I figured a 26" tall tire would work better than the 27" MCreary's which are actually dirt track tires but i've used them awhile cause they're $100 a piece and last a long time.

Quote:
Your mph in the 1/8th is what is most troubling. You are not gonna get a much better ET with a 80mph trap speed. What was your uncorrected HP when you went to the dyno?

Re: What should this car run?
I don't know?
uncorrected HP wasn't brought up, to be honest I don't know what it means?? Trap speed is what worries me too as it stayed in the 80.3-80.8 range every run.

Re: What should this car run?
Well I think we just hit the nail on the head, you are running way too much air in the ET's, run 10psi, heat the crap out of them and launch AT THE MINIMUM 5K, I launch at 6k with the ET Streets with 10psi and run 1.68 60ft's all day.
On a side note, are you running an off road pipe? What's the roller rocker ratio? What's the timing and F/P at? If you really want to get into the tune and squeeze more out, get a good wideband on it and we can fine tune lots more from that.
